GW Law’s National Security, Cybersecurity, & Foreign Relations Law Program, in cooperation with the National Security Law Association (NSLA), held the Adjunct Networking Reception, bringing together adjunct professors teaching in national security law courses and students interested in pursuing careers in the field.

Every semester, this reception offers GW Law students the opportunity to meet, network, and learn more about opportunities with adjunct professors in national security, cybersecurity, and foreign relations law outside of the classroom. This semester’s event drew students who are members of NSLA, Veteran Law Students Association, Military Law Society, and others interested in careers in the various areas of national security law. Students of all levels and backgrounds attended the event, including first-year JD students and soon-to-graduate LLM students.

The professors in attendance teach in courses ranging from National Security Law, Military Justice, Counterintelligence Law and Policy, Disinformation, National Security, and Cybersecurity: Overview and Legal Approaches, and Nuclear Nonproliferation Law and Policy to Problems Trying Terrorists in Article III Courts, Contracts, and The Law of Emergencies: Natural Disasters, Climate Crises, Pandemics, and Beyond. Students were able to network directly with experts in the field, even if they have not had the chance to take courses in these areas yet.

This successful event emphasizes GW Law’s National Security, Cybersecurity, & Foreign Relation Law Program and the NSLA’s dedication to supporting students with an interest in all facets of national security law and connecting students to GW Law’s expansive network of national security law experts in the Washington, DC area.
