In September, The George Washington University presented two law school graduates with its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, the highest form of recognition given by the University and the George Washington Alumni Association. Gregory H. Williams, JD ’71, and Richard D. Heideman, JD ’72, both received the award for making a lasting impact on society through outstanding professional, voluntary, and philanthropic accomplishments. Dr. Williams is a former president of the Association of American Law Schools who also served as the president of two universities. Mr. Heideman is a former president of the GW Law Alumni Association who represents victims of terrorism by bringing actions against institutions accused of funding acts of terror.
