Access to Justice Clinic - HEPA Environmental Justice Division

Access to Justice Clinic – Health Equity Policy and Advocacy (HEPA) Environmental Justice Division focuses on legal strategies to address environmental justice issues that affect the health of low-income and marginalized communities. Students will engage in legal advocacy related to environmental justice and public health policy and administrative law. Students will represent one or more nonprofits and community-based organizations in various areas, including analyzing gaps and levers in statutes and regulations, submitting comments to federal rulemaking, preparing amicus curiae briefs, and creating advocacy packets and resources. Students in this Clinic will work to improve access to justice and environmental justice at both the local and national level. Professor Emily Benfer & Professorial Lecturer Christin Appah-Gyamfi.

Credits: 2-3 credits – H, P, LP or NC (one semester)
